Pontiac Bonneville Picture
Since Pontiac Bonneville debuted in 1958, it has undergone several changes and modification including
its engines. It was once a big, flashy car with a V8 engine generating 310 horsepower
until General Motors had all of its full-size body car trimmed down. The early
edition Bonnevilles rides in a wheelbase that measured 124 inches and an overall
length of 222. 6 inches while the later version only measured 110" or so in the
wheelbase and 201" in the overall length. Mostly, Bonneville comes with a V6 engine
since the V8 only returns upon the introduction of the GXP after it was dropped
in the 80's. However, the supercharged engine series were available as an option
for the vehicles.

The Bonnevilles were offered, before, in trim models such as Broughams and Convertibles
then came the LE, SE, SSE, SSEi and the most modern GXP. The first two trims were
mostly available during the 60s until the convertible was dropped after 1970.
For the 90's, trims such as SE, SSE and SSEi were mostly available. The first
two trims usually carried GM's basic 3.8L V6 engine while the last has the supercharged
version.
Among Bonneville's standard safety features were power steering and power brakes,
which were available on almost every model. Standard features and safety features
also received innovations throughout Bonneville's years, from being simple features
to being most sophisticated.
