2005 Pontiac Bonneville
The 2005 Pontiac Bonneville model is the carryover of its 2004 predecessor. It
is a 4-door family or sport sedan that can carry up to 6 passengers. Available
trim levels are the SE, SLE and the GXP. The SLE this year got its new styling
cues from the GXP trim. These styles include a new front and rear fascias, headlights,
taillights, fog lights, bodyside moldings and rocker panels. The OnStar also got
Gen 6 hardware together with an upgraded hands-free capability.
An automatic locking control, all-speed traction control, an AM/FM radio with
seek, scan, speed sensitive volume and 6 speakers and CD player were the standard
features for the SLE. There were also optional features that include an engine
block heater, a dual seat mounted front side airbags and an AM/FM radio with cassette
and CD player.
Available standard features for the GXP includes seat mounted front side airbags,
StabiliTrak(R) Vehicle Stability Control System and an AM/FM radio with seek,
scan, speed sensitive volume and Monsoon™ Speakers with 8 total speakers. Standard
features such as cassette player and CD player were also included. There are also
available optional features such as Trunk Emergency Accessory Kit, EyeCue® Head-Up
Display and a 12-Disc CD Changer located in Trunk.
For the SE trim, standard features were automatic locking retractors, 4-wheel
antilock brakes, an AM/FM radio with seek, scan, speed sensitive volume and a
total of 6 speakers and a CD player. Optional features such as dual seat mounted
front side airbags, an all-speed traction control, an AM/FM radio with cassette
and CD player.
The SE Sedan has been equipped with a standard 3.8L V6 engine that gives 205
horsepower since its introduction. This powertrain achieves 20-mpg in city driving
and 29-mpg on highways. The GXP trim, on the other hand, is equipped with a standard
4.6L V8 engine giving off 275 horsepower. The GXP can achieve 17-mpg and 24-mpg
in city and highway driving respectively. Both trims got a standard 4-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive.
