2001 Pontiac Bonneville
The 2001 model year of Pontiac Bonneville has minor enhancements that made it
share the same platform as Cadillac Seville and Buick LeSabre. However, they only
have similarities underneath for the Bonneville has a virtually different outward
appearance. Its new look associated with its sleek, contemporary styling makes
it stand out from others. The Pontiac Bonneville is offered in trim levels such
as the SE, SLE and the SSEi. The SSEi offered more standard features than the
two trims. Among this features are the Stabilitrak system, trunk accessory kit,
head-up display and variable-effort steering with memory.

The excellent variable-effort steering was provided by the Magnasteer variable
steering system which increases steering efforts at higher speeds giving you an
experience of a better road feel. For those who want their sedan with an attitude,
surely they will enjoy the Bonneville with its plenty power. It has a very good
handling and has enough available gadgets. Even as this vehicle was redesigned
last year, it retained its heritage as a fun-to-drive and stylish car to drive.
All Pontiac Bonneville's models include the OnStar communications system as a
feature although it is optional for the SE trim. The OnStar is a safety and security
system known for its great features such as providing accident assistance, air
bag deployment notification, roadside assistance and other services concerning
safety.
The 2001 SSEi Bonneville trims features the 3.8L Series II supercharged V6 engine
with 240 horsepower and 230 lb.-ft. torque while the SE and the SLE used the standard
engine that generates 205 horsepower and a torque of 230 lb.-ft. Both engines
used a four-speed electronically controlled transmission. Other standard equipment
included in the Bonneville are independent front and rear performance suspensions,
traction control, dual frontal air bags, driver and front passenger side impact
air bags, four wheel antilock brakes, remote keyless entry, rear spoiler and fog
lamps and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
Interior features includes bucket seats with leather seating surfaces, leather
wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, an AM/FM stereo with cassette and
CD player, eight speaker sound system (Bose), electrochromic rear view mirror,
dual zone air conditioning and cruise control. There are also optional equipments
that includes a power glass sunroof, universal garage door opener and an inch
chrome plated aluminum wheels. These features can be availed for a price of course.
