2000 Pontiac Bonneville
The 2000 Bonneville was redesigned for buyers such as baby boomers, those around
50 years old, college graduates and professionals according to Pontiac. It's SSEi
trim levels, being the Bonneville's flagship, is said as devised for 45 year olds
with a 70/30 male/female ratio and a likely college degree or professional. The
2000 Bonneville, a front-drive sedan which carried similarity to the Buick Lesabre
got fresh styling though its powertrains were just carryovers.

This year, the Bonneviles carried a standard 3.8L Series II V6 engine that generates
205 hp and 230 lb.-ft. torque while the SSEi trim got a supercharged version that
generates 240 hp and 280 lb.-ft. torque at 3600 rpm. Both engine versions used
an electronic four-speed automatic transmission.
Standard features included in the 2001 Bonneville models are side impact air
bags for front seats, front bucket seats, antilock all disc-brakes and a tire
inflation monitor. The SSEi trim got more. These include a Bose eight-speaker
sound system, Magnetic Speed variable Assist power steering, front and rear performance
suspension, and a 2.93 final drive axle ratio. The EyeCue head-up display, which
projects primary instrument readings onto the windshield, was also included.
The SSEi trim level of Bonneville also includes an enhanced safety features like
the Stabilitrak antiskid system, which employs body motion sensors and a computer,
specially designed to selectively brake the front wheels to counteract skids on
slippery surfaces. There's also the traction control features that senses when
a wheel lost traction and regulates wheel spin through transmission, brakes and
engine power managing. Optional features for the 2000 models includes optional
power sunroof, chrome plated 17-inch alloy wheels, CD changer and heated seats.
The SE trims also offers an optional bench for 6-passenger capacity.
