1996 Pontiac Bonneville
In 1996, Pontiac Bonneville came in with two model trims, the SE and the SLE.
A 3800 Series II SFI V6 engine that generates 205 horsepower powered both models
and used a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Also both can have the
optional supercharged version that generates 240 horsepower. These engines plus
the revised front and rear styling of the Bonneville are the key changes for this
year.
The Bonneville rides in a wheelbase that measured 110.8", overall length of 201.2"
and a curb weight of 3,446 lbs. It has front headroom that measures 39.2" and
front legroom of 42.6". This vehicle can carry 5 up to 6 passengers and 18 cu.
ft. of cargo.
Standard safety features in the Bonnevilles includes dual airbags, antilock brakes,
Passkey II theft deterrent system, variable assist power steering, child safety
locks, daytime running lights and new programmable power door locking system.
Additional standard feature for this vehicle includes power windows, fog lights
and cruise control. The SE adds an air conditioning system to its standard features
and an optional cassette player while the SSEi got additional heated mirrors,
keyless entry and an upgraded AM/FM stereo cassette system as standard feature.
Optional features for the 1996 Bonneville include power leather bucket seats,
power sunroof, air conditioning system and antitheft system. Also included were
traction control, power driver seats, customized wheel and AM/FM radio with cassette
and CD. The 1996 Bonneville also offered the SLE Package with a supercharged V6
engine and the SSEi Package with an upgraded instrument cluster, SSEi badging,
driver select shift controls and the supercharged V6 engine.
